This blog is the result of our personal journey, navigating the world of grief and loss.
Our son, David Finkelman, was killed crossing Whyte Avenue in Edmonton on January 27, 2014. He was 27 years old.
David was struck in a crosswalk by a young, distracted driver. Since then we have had to deal with the never-ending horror of losing a child.
Lately, we have turned our attention to advocating for traffic safety.
We hope this blog will start a dialogue on how to build a future where drivers, pedestrians and cyclists can co-exist, so that no one else loses someone they love on our streets.
We also hope it will be a safe place where families affected by roadway collisions can find their voice.
